Dear MGF Community,
I hope this message finds you well, embracing the dog days of Summer and getting back into the Fall routine of school and sports. We are wrapping up another successful event, MGF Summer Splash — supporters across the country are diving into pools, lakes, and oceans while donating to our cause and raising waves of awareness inside their networks.
We are well on our way to financially assisting 100 cancer patients and their families by EOY 2024! As I write this note, our 84th and 85th recipients are receiving the help they desperately need… all because of the action we’re taking and the love we are displaying! With our Meaningful Mile event on the horizon this November and one final push around the holidays, I’m certain we will reach and exceed our target.
Here are some highlights so far from the first eight months of the year:
- Our Reach: What originally started in only New Jersey and Florida, we have now supported patients in 15 states nationwide
- 2nd Annual Golf Outing: Surpassing total funds raised during last year’s time on the course, we gave to 13 recipients from this event alone
- The Growth Team: We have put together an altruistic, passionate group of volunteers spanning all ages.
- Our Partners: Top brands, such as LMNT and Nike, continue to provide care packages and apparel as gifts and prizes for our donors, recipients and supporters
- Ringing the Bell: One of our recipients, a 14-year-old girl being treated at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, was deemed cancer-free of osteosarcoma after over 10 months of chemotherapy!
I’ve repeated it before and I’ll state it again: the more we give, the more we live. Let’s continue to find ourselves by getting lost in the service of others. The most fulfilled we will ever be on this planet is when we are lighting up the lives of those in need with smiles, support and hope. MGF gives anyone a fighting chance.
